Present continuous tense

पहचान : इस काल के, वाक्य के अंत मे रहा है, रही हैं, रहे हैं आदि शब्द आते है

Rules :

1. In present continuous tense, we use Is, am, are, and first form of the main verb with ing.

(Past continuous tense में, हम मुख्य क्रिया + ing के उपयोग से पहले is/ am/ are का प्रयोग करते है)

Subject + is/ am/ are + first form (v) + ing + object.

2. When the subject is "I", we use am., [I am a doctor].

When the subject is he, she, it or singular, we use is . [he is singing a song].

When the subject is you, we they or plural, we use are. [we are thinking for match].

• Am »  I
• Is    » He, She, It, Name or singular.
• Are » you, we, they, or plural.

3. In negative sentences we put not between is/ am/ are and Ist form (v) + ing. 

Subject + Is/ am/ are + Not + first form (v) + ing + object.

4. In interrogative sentence is/ am/ are is placed before the subject.

Is/ am/ are + subject + first form (v) + ing + object?

5. In interrogative negative not is placed between subject and verb.

Is/ am/ are + subject + not + first form (v) + ing + object?

Simple sentence

Subject + is/ am/ are + first form (v) + ing + object.

Examples

• में घर जा रहा हूँ
• I am going to home.
• वह अभी सो रही है
• She is sleeping now.
• हम तुम्हारा इंतजार कर रहे है
• We are waiting for you.
• अध्यापक कक्षा में पढ़ा रहे है
• The teacher is teaching in classroom.

Negative sentence

Subject + Is/ am/ are + Not + first form (v) + ing + object.

Examples

• मैं आज नहीं आ रहा हूँ
• I am not coming Today.
• तुम पढ़ नहीं रहे हो
• You are not reading.
• वह आज कलकत्ता नहीं जा रहा है
• He is not leaving for Kolkata today.
• वह खरीदारी के लिए नहीं जा रही है
• She is not going for shopping.

Interrogative sentence

Is/ am/ are + subject + first form (v) + ing + object?

Examples

• क्या वह घर जा रहा है?
• Is he going to home?
• क्या वह परीक्षा दे रही है?
• Is she taking an examination?
• क्या तुम उसका काम कर रहे हो?
• Are you doing his work?
• क्या वे कुर्सियों पर बैठे हुए है?
• Are they sitting on the chairs?

Negative Interrogative sentence

Is/ am/ are + subject + not + first form (v) + ing + object?

Examples

• क्या मैं पढ़ाई नहीं कर रहा हूँ?
• Am I not studying?
• क्या तुम उसका काम नहीं कर रहे हो?
• Are you not doing his work?
• क्या वह किताब नहीं लिख रहा है?
• Is he not writing a book?
• क्या हम क्रिकेट नहीं खेल रहे है?
• Are we not playing the cricket?

Wh family sentence

Wh + Is/ am/ are + subject + first form (v) + ing + object?

Examples

• तुम मेरा पीछा क्यों कर रहे हो?
• Why are you following me?
• तुम इसे कहाँ ले जा रहे हो?
• Where are you taking it?
• वह शादी कब कर रही है?
• When is she getting marry?
