Past Perfect Continuous

पहचान : इस काल के वाक्यों अंत में से रहा था,  से रही थी,  से रहे थे आदि शब्द आते है |

Rules :

1. In past perfect continuous tense, we are told that the action had been going for a certain period in past time.

(Past perfect continuous tense में, हमें बताया जाता है कि कार्रवाई पिछले समय में एक निश्चित अवधि से की जा रही थी)

2. Had been is used with subject of any person and number.

(किसी भी व्यक्ति और संख्या के विषय के साथ had been प्रयोग किया जाता है)

3. In these types of sentences, uses first form (v) + ing  and according to the given time use since / for.

(इस प्रकार के वाक्यों में first form (v) + ing + का प्रयोग करते है तथा दिए गए समय के अनुसार since/for का प्रयोग करते है)

Subject + had been + first from (v) + ing + object + since/ for + time.

Note :

Since : निश्चित समय के लिए

Ex. सुबह से, 2 बजे से, कल से, शाम से, 1991 से, इत्यादि

For : अनिश्चित समय के लिए

Ex. दस दिनों से, कुछ दिनों से, बहुत समय से, कई साल से, 2 साल से इत्यादि

4. In negative sentence not is put between had and been.

(नकारात्मक वाक्य में had been के बीच में not रखा गया है)

Subject + had not been + first from (v) + ing + object + since/ for + time.

5. In Interrogative sentence had is placed before the subject and been after the subject, then Ist form of verb + ing and so on.

Had + subject + been + first form (v) + ing + object + since/ for + time?

6.  In Interrogative negative sentence not is placed before been.

Had + subject + not been + first form (v) + ing + object + since/ for + time?

Simple sentence

Subject + had been + first from (v) + ing + object + since/ for + time.

Examples 

• वह सोमवार से छूटी पर था
• He had been on leave since Monday.
• वह दो महीने से बीमार है
• He had been ill for two months.
• सिमरन दस मिनट से गा रही थी 
• Simran had been singing for ten minutes
• वह 2 बजे से मेरी प्रतीक्षा कर रहा था
• He had been waiting for me since two O' clock.

Negative sentence

Subject + had not been + first from (v) + ing + object + since/ for + time.

Examples

• वह सुबह से नहीं पड़ रहा था
• He had not been studying since morning.
• वह एक साल से वहाँ नहीं रहे रहा था
• He had not been living there for a year.
• बच्चे पांच बजे से मैदान में नहीं खेल रहे थे
• The children had not been playing in the ground since five O' clock.
• में बहुत समय से तुमसे नहीं मिल पा रहा था
• I had not been meeting you for a long time.

Interrogative sentence

Had + subject + been + first form (v) + ing + object + since/ for + time?

Examples

• क्या वह सुबह से रो रही थी?
• Had she been weeping since morning?
• क्या बच्चे एक घंटे से शरारत कर रहे थे?
• Had the children been making mischief for a hour?
• क्या वह प्रातः काल से अकेले बैठा हुआ था?
• Had he been sitting alone since morning?
• क्या तुम जुलाई से परीक्षा की तैयारी कर रहे थे?
• Had you been preparing for the examination since July?

Negative interrogative

Had + subject + not been + first form (v) + ing + object + since/ for + time?

Examples

• क्या तुम मुझे इतनी देर से परेशान नहीं कर रहे थे?
• Had you not been bothering me for a long time?
• क्या तुम एक हफ्ते से यहाँ नहीं रह रहे थे?
• Had you not been living here for one week?
• क्या हम उसे सुबह से समझाने की कोशिश नहीं कर रहे थे?
• Had we not been trying to make him understand since morning?
• क्या वह शुरू से सब काम ख़राब नहीं कर रहा था?
• Had he not been spoiling the things since beginning?

Wh family sentence

Wh family + had + subject + been + first form (v) + ing + object + since/ for + time?

Examples

• वह यहाँ कब से आ रहा था?
• Since when had he been coming here?
• तुम सुबह से उसके बारे में क्यों पूछ रहे थे?
• Why had you been asking about her since morning?
